The World:
The world of The Enchanted operates much like our own world. However, unlike our own, magic is very very alive and tangible.
Living amongst normal humans (those without magic) are beings with powers such as witches, mages, werewolves, vampires, demons, and all things in between. Most humans are aware of the existence of the supernatural world living amongst them but they do their best to turn a blind eye to it. After all, life is hard enough without adding magic to the mix.
Although never explored in the original RP, there is likely a section of the government that is knowledgeable and "loosely" oversees the supernatural community.
Fabled cryptids/mermaids/etc are alive and well but mostly tend to keep to themselves - including the Loch Ness Monster "Nessy".
The Prophecy:
Long ago, there was a prophecy made about The Enchanted.
They would come at a time of great need and be a great force of good for the world. They would restore balance and become the strongest witches of their generation. As individuals, they would be powerful in their own right but nowhere near their potential when their powers are combined. On their 21st birthdays, they would become immortal - only death by their own hand or from a spelled athame could take them out. Because they were to restore a balance to the world, one would lean toward the "good" and one would lean toward "evil".
According to some family members, it was their wish that the girls were found early on and trained from a young age. Fighting "the forces of darkness" and evil was supposed to be their sole focus. Thanks to Piper's Dad and Jordan's Grandmother, they were able to hide the two away until they turned 18.
Everyone in the supernatural community/world knows of the Enchanted and looks up to the Enchanted. When something happens, the news spreads like wildfire.
According to Dom in their OG world - the rumor was they would be male (Piper insists that's highly overrated).
The Family:
Piper and Jordan's family line goes back to ancient times. Only a handful remain.
Most of their family has had normal power levels and doesn't live forever (ie: Piper's Dad and Jordan's Grandmother). Those who are above average have sometimes gone insane and/or killed themselves along the way.
Communication with their ancestors started in books/journals where they placed a bit of their magic/souls in order to assist their descendants.

Piper & Jordan
* When Piper's family moved back to New Orleans, Piper's Father & Jordan's Grandmother reconnected and realized the two girls were The Enchanted. They placed a protection/hiding charm on the two of them to keep others from finding them. Jordan's parents passed when she was in elementary school, so she was watched over by her grandmother. Somewhere during their senior year, Piper's father is killed (probably by a demon or SOMEONE wanting information on the Enchanted). Piper stays with her Stepmother and Sister until she graduates.
When they come together during senior year and go to the cabin - the spell breaks. They come into their full power and learn about the prophecy - everything their families kept from them.
